Salem, Oregon September 2013 where Santos achieved his

Just hanging around ...
At the older age of just on 14 years old my bed is too high
for the seniors so I do not allow them up anymore however look who
jumped on the bed two days in a row (below right) after we went
for our yearly adjustments at the chiropractor?!!
I think after two days of me saying OFF he got the point and has not done
it again since. Santos is in great shape however at his age I want to keep
it that way and I do not want him jumping off the
bed slipping and hurting himself. ♥

I was very pleased I decided to partake in the Poodle Specialties and
make the drive to Salem, Oregon! It was great to be reacquainted with so
many Poodle Lovers and Breeders I had not seen in some time.
Catching up with Poodles I also had not seen in years was wonderful along with shopping for Leggings for the boys, new Critter Beds and some long awaited Bling Collars!!
Extra special was seeing a couple of my pups and their owners
who came to see all the Poodles and meet back up with their Poodle Family.
That is always the best!

Two American Titles

Today was the start of the heat wave on the West Coast. Up to then it has been raining and quite cool in the mornings. I was already feeling it at the U.S./Canadian Border line up at 8:30 AM and it did not get any better ugh! I have suffered heat exposure before so I do not do well in it anymore. I even considered turning around to come home! LOL
We persevered continuing onwards south to Mt.Vernon. Thankfully the
I-5 bridge that had collapsed back in May just north of Mt.Vernon had been temporarily fixed so we did not have a detour to contend with. We arrived at the show grounds just in time to see the end of Rally Advanced finding a nice big tree in the corner close to the Obedience & Rally Rings which was a very well received spot by all seeking shade :)

Ok so the walk throughs went well so I thought however
when dog and handler together went in the ring ... like I said and not making excuses it was hot!!! LOL Trying to remember back what happened on our course is just not there now other than Santos was distracted as were a lot of the dogs as it was the first outdoor Trial! I know I know PROOFING!
At one Station I somehow got his leash under his front leg I think when
we did the Down and Stop Station! Then when I tried to fix it upon
Judge Alice Peterson's instruction Santos thought I was giving him another signal to down so down he went! LOL Talk about fumble dee and fumble dumb!
Anyways I shan't go on as we did qualify for our 3rd Q from our third Trial taking a second in class to receive a new AKC Rally Novice Title! :)
With the 3 Rally Trials Santos accomplished 1 High in Class and 2 second places in class giving him the name

As Santos received his Rally Excellent Title yesterday we did not compete
in the rest of the Rally Trials we had entered concentrating on the
two Obedience Trials for today.
Obedience Trial #3 in Novice A under Judge Jeffery Lunder from Alberta, we did not qualify. On the recall Santos did something he has never done.....he just sat there looking at me after I called to him "Santos...Front". The Judge even leaned over looking at him twice LOL so finally I tilted my head to the side too and he came immediately!!! Of course that was two signals, one voice and then the head tilt considered as a signal. As Santos did not attempt the recall it was already a NQ. Someone brought to my attention the sound acoustics were not that good for hearing some of the commands ... oh well something else to proof for LOL

Our first event for Saturday was Obedience Trial #2 in Novice A under Judge Shirley Hubenig from Alberta, Santos and I take a HIC for a score of 185 out of 200 for our first Qualifying Score. Now needing two more Q's towards our CD.
Our second event for Saturday is Rally Trial #1 in Rally Excellent A under Judge Carolyn Wray from Oregon, U.S.A. for a score of 82 and our second Q towards our RE.
This has been quite the feat as going from the Obedience Ring there is only one command being either hand or voice not both and in Rally Ring you may encourage your dog with both hand and voice signals together!

This morning was a far better drive across the Border being the
first in line at the Nexus giving us more time to relax before Trialling ... well
sort of that is! LOL
However it is somewhat a little nerve racking going from one ring to the other.
In the Novice Class A Santos took a score of 189 for 2nd place of 4 dogs for our 2nd Q towards our Companion Dog (CD).
They were doing the Walk Through for Rally while we were in the
Obedience Ring so missed that but still did good receiving a
score of 98 out of 100 taking a 1st - HIC out of 6 dogs competing for our
2nd Q under Judge Curt Allen Curtis.
I l♥ve my Santos and appreciate all the wonderful compliments from
everyone telling me how great he works for me & what a wonderful dog!!!

capturing my most favourite boy forever! ♥

Santos and I were out for our very first AKC Obedience & Rally Trials this weekend traveling back and forth across the U.S.A./Canada Border.
We started with the Obedience Trial first in Novice Class A where we took
a score of 192 out of 200 for 1st place out of two dogs,
HIC - High In Class under Judge Carol R. Callahan.

We then went to the Rally Ring for Rally Novice A
scoring a 96 out of 100 for a 2nd place out of 7 dogs under
Judge Richard J. Lewis.
All in all a very good day that I am very happy with!
(Other than the Border wait for Victoria Day long weekend ... ugh!)

Santos and I Q'd with a wonderful score of 99 however only to be defeated
by a beautifully working Boston Terrier who scored 100 for HIC!

Santos and I Q'd with a wonderful score of 99 however only to be defeated
by a beautifully working Boston Terrier who scored 100 for HIC!

Rally Advanced
This morning we were unable to attend our first Trial (#1) due to a bad reaction
I had to anti inflammatories for my hand however we were there for our
Trial #2 in the afternoon where we received our 2nd
Q (qualifying score) with a 95 out of 100 taking a
High In Class
out of six of us competing in our class.

Santos now has the TOP PRODUCER status in Canada!
This happened on a somewhat special day as in the regards of both
my Father and Santos shared the same birthday being January 11th!
My Father would have been 89 years old and Santos will be
9 years old. This is how it made it easier for me to remember their ages ;) Unfortunately, my Father passed on the very same day October 28th, 2012 that Santos became a Top Producer.
Two very honourable males in my life that I love and will
treasure for the rest of my life!!!

Santos and I to ever be in an
Obedience Ring!
We competed in our first Rally
Trail at the Novice A Level
taking a Qualifying Score for 97 out of 100!!! We were 2 seconds from tying for High in Class!
Trial #2 that afternoon gave us another Q (qualifying score)
of 95 out of 100.
We need one more Q to have his Rally Novice Title ''RN".
We both had a great time and Santos loves it!!!

Foster is one of those rare individuals who believes the amount of reward one can expect from a project can be gauged precisely by the amount of work put in. A relative newcomer to the sport of conformation exhibiting, Foster has already become a fixture on the West Coast scene, with several stout wins to her credit.

It has stuck with all his friends!!!

Standard Poodle should. He stands 24" square at the shoulders.
He has full body with spring of rib, depth and breadth of chest with good fill. His temperament is proof of how he spends time and patience around puppies that maul him and his continual patience of a 7 month old puppy male leaving his ears soaked from constant chewing on! UGH!!!
He is a very biddable dog and he effortlessly glides over jumps.
I can`t wait to start
Obedience and Agility with him.
Fall of 2005
We started dabbling in Beginners Agility
with sis Viola, mom Shiraz & grandmom Zarrah.
He just loves it being soooo keen, fast and willing with the tendencies
to show off!!!!
I looked forward to begin Agility again in Fall of 2006 however it did not
happen due to the Dog Show Schedule in both
the United States and Canada.
