Line Drive Trial #1
Another first for Morgan was Crazy 8's. It was so wonderful to watch her hunt rats as she has been very subtle in the past.
She did the climb however refused the tunnel.
Morgan had found a couple of rats plus did the climb however refused the tunnel.
I think I also must have called the wrong place for a rat as we did not pass.
A cold windy wet day we tried the new Line Drive with a few nice finds however we timed out at one minute minus finding 4 rats.

Another first for Morgan was Crazy 8's. It was so wonderful to watch her hunt rats as she has been very subtle in the past.

A weekend of NQ's for Morgan.
So throughout the weekend we did find a rat here and there or a couple of times I pointed to a tube of litter
soiled by the rat. RATS I say!!! LOL A new thing for her which can happen and it did for us ... Morgan wouldn't do the tunnels! I usually set up my cardboard box tunnels before a Trial weekend but with the heat I did not even think of it!
So not the best at hunting this weekend when I paid money for her to hunt and work that little nose!
Alas when she was home it wasn't a problem for her to work her little nose under the bird aviary!!! Dang you Morgan! LOL

I swear her scent instinct has changed which makes me think the breeding took!Plus she has been off her food for a few days which is not normal for her!!!
Morgan was actually hunting today and even though she doesn't spend a lot of time on the rat the fact she actually put her face in the area is her subtle way of finding the rat. Some places she doesn't want to look so I called both rats!!!
Yipeee!!! Our 1st Q for Barn Hunt Open! PASS time of 133.2

Our 3rd Q at the time of 114.30 which is Morgan's first CKC Title!
She did the tunnel and climb well. It was pretty cool to see her hunting. I paused at one area where she was sniffing. I took a serious look at her nose to see it actually moving and I even adjusted my glasses! LOL I called RAT!!!!
Yippeeee a Title for Morgan!

LOL so a Fail.
Trial #1 Instinct Pass 43.21 .... which is when I called it as I was trying to get her to look again at the three tubes.
When we first came in the ring I sent her through the tunnel then directed her over to the cradle of the three tubes.
She dropped her head to the middle tube and kept walking. She is so subtle!

Sunday August 8, 2021 Good job hunting Morgan!!! She is a very subtle hunter so I find it easy to miss if she has found the rat! At least three times this weekend I was just getting ready to point when we timed out!!! Ugh! LOL Morgans 2nd Q with a third place in her size division class for a time of 95.13 seconds. Well done Miss Morgan! |

Our first Barn Hunt Trials since November last year ... or so we thought!
We brought our newest addition to the Poodle Pack and family!
A Cross Roads Sunset Trail Ultra Lite trailer!
We dropped it off Thursday evening at Barn Hunt only to discover we were missing one very important adaptor to hook up the generators to run the air conditioning!
This meant we were not able to arrive for the Trials until mid day right in the heat of it after purchasing the adaptor.
We missed Morgan and Mambos classes however was able to run
Twinks and Shimmer (who even decided it was too hot to hunt) and then we left as I just decided as we didn't have a chance to adapt to the heat that we were far better off at home. Hubby and I came back in the evening to bring the trailer home. Even to drive out to the valley I decided if we ended up on the side of the road it was just to dangerously hot for the dogs, myself and anyone that had to come rescue our sorry butts so we stayed home! So no playing this weekend out!
