Trials 5 & 6 Mambo and I found one rat then timed out.
Trials 3 & 4 Mambo was still able to do the Instinct today with a Pass.
I had moved him up for Open which we timed out. He now must find two rats in 2-1/2 minutes.

Trial 2 was a success with a Pass and time of 91.84 finding that rat! Mambo was fourth place in his division as well. He has now earned his Rat Novice Title!
Trial 1 Instinct and Novice A were both a fail.

Our first Barn Hunt Trials since November last year ... or so we thought!
We brought our newest addition to the Poodle Pack and family!
A Cross Roads Sunset Trail Ultra Lite trailer!
We dropped it off Thursday evening at Barn Hunt only to discover we were missing one very important adaptor to hook up the generators to run the
air conditioning.
This meant we were not able to arrive for the Trials until mid day right in the heat of it.
We missed Morgan and Mambos classes however was able to run
Twinks and Shimmer (who even decided it was too hot to hunt) and then we left as I just decided as we didn't have a chance to adapt to the heat that we were far better off at home. Hubby and I came back in the evening to bring the trailer home. Even to drive out to the valley I decided if we ended up on the side of the road it was just to dangerously hot for the dogs, myself and anyone that had to come rescue our sorry butts so we stayed home! So no playing this weekend out!

Well Happy Belated Birthday to me!
Trial 5 was the best run between all three Standard Poodles!!
Six finds out of six runs!!!
As we had done a Rally Trial just two weeks earlier some dogs continue on thinking that's what we want especially when they are most wanting to please
like Mambo. He did hunt once I told him out!
Rat Instinct for his 4th🐀 RATI (x4) at 22.90 seconds
His first Q 🐀 for Rat Novice! 97.55 seconds

mainly cloudy with a beautiful sunny and very warm afternoon. Yeah!!!
Mambo did very well finding the rat in 28.13 seconds for another Rat Instinct.
We then went into Rat Novice where he did the best ever keeping his mind for the first time where I wanted it and not on what a young male thinks he needs to do as he did before! LOL

In Rat Novice large dog division,
Mambo placed third with a time of 58.66 seconds
out of 29 dogs! Allowed time is 2 minutes. Nicely done Mambo!!!

We went for a couple of beautiful walks afterwards
where theyhad earned a bit of freedom to kick up their heels.

He did me most proud!
I entered Mambo into the Rat Instinct Test first.
Waiting our turn in the blind we were called out and into the Ring. Around the bales of straw and over to the cradle holding the three tubes, I redirected his attention asking him to find it. That he did BANG right on it! As this was his first time I encouraged him over to the other two tubes and back he went onto the middle one. 🐀 RATI completed in 31.22 which was when I called it
not his true time! :)
(two days ago I pulled out my cardboard box
introducing him to a "tunnel" and some little boxes with treats to "find it")
