She kind of sauntered around sniffing everything. The rat was on top while Twinks was sniffing on the ground area so NQ.
Open B Trial #5
We moved Twinks to the Open B class towards her RATOX excellent Title.
We found one rat, did the tunnel and climb and that was it. So NQ!

Well well well we both did it right!!! Two rats, a climb and she does the L shaped tunnels beautifully which means RATO Title!!!
Twinks went 4th place and in a time of 120.93. This was her 3rd Q for her Title!

I'm pleased that Twinks is doing the tunnels again!
She is hunting but I'm second guessing her! We found the rat then I called where unfortunately another rat used to be that Twinks was smelling!

Trial # 8 Rat Open A We found one rat then timed out before we could find our second one. Twinks is also now refusing the tunnels. She was bred with the expecting date for tomorrow however for whatever reason it did not take! Sadly she has her hormones all out of whack now! :( Update: found out the male had an infection and his semen had bent tails!!!! ♥ |

Our first Barn Hunt Trials since November last year ... or so we thought!
We brought our newest addition to the Poodle Pack and family!
A Cross Roads Sunset Trail Ultra Lite trailer!
We dropped it off Thursday evening at Barn Hunt only to discover we were missing one very important adaptor to hook up the generators to run the air conditioning.

Our first Barn Hunt Trials since November last year ... or so we thought!
We brought our newest addition to the Poodle Pack and family!
A Cross Roads Sunset Trail Ultra Lite trailer!
We dropped it off Thursday evening at Barn Hunt only to discover we were missing one very important adaptor to hook up the generators to run the air conditioning.
This meant we were not able to arrive for the Trials until mid day right in the heat of it.
We missed Morgan and Mambos classes however was able to run
Twinks and Shimmer (who even decided it was too hot to hunt) and then we left as I just decided as we didn't have a chance to adapt
to the heat that we were far better off at home. Hubby and I came back in the evening to bring the trailer home.
Even to drive out to the valley I decided if we ended up on the side of the road it was just to dangerously hot for the dogs, myself and
anyone that had to come rescue our sorry butts so we stayed home!
So no playing this weekend out!

A 2nd in the Large Dog Division with the time of 134.69 seconds out of 150 seconds to find two rats!

Wow oh Wowzers Miss Twinks!!!
Her first time in the Open Class for the find of two 🐀🐀 rats in two and a half minutes and we do it for her 1st Q!!!
Not only that but she got 1st in the Large Dog Division and HIC (high in class) of 14 dogs in 106.47 seconds!

No birthday love for me. I did learn more this weekend that I can point back to where I believe the rat is
without taking the dog back to it!
I could have had at least 3 to 4 more Qs if I had figured that one out earlier! Oh well it is still fun!

It was nice to have the husband come out as it does make for a nice time walking the dogs together but I don't think
it will happen anymore as the dogs looked for Larry being distracted from finding that rat!

some people were holding their breathes to see if she would complete her Rat Novice Title on this run.

My little Twinks went right to hunting. She did the tunnel well after a second time asking as the first time
she did a climb then sniffed out two areas however the third one was a little more so I called RAT!!!
Congratulations was said by our judge Shelley Ingram and this gave Twinks her 2nd Q 🐀 towards
her Rat Novice Title!!! Time of 81.56 seconds with a 120 second allowed time.

Hahaha we walked into the ring first one of the day for everyone and I proceeded to start Twinks hunting
on the bales of straw right out of the box.
She did a climb and I wondered why the judge did not call climb ... we continued hunting and came around the end
to see three tubes ... the light finally came on!!! We were not in Novice but Instinct LOL!!!
Twinks went right to the middle tube and I called RAT! 🐀
So a longer time for her due to handler error! 50.25 RATI (x2)

Forecast today was for rain with some odd little rainfalls happening however mainly cloudy with
a beautiful sunny and very warm afternoon. Yeah!!!
For Rat Instinct, Twinks did very well finding the rat in 20.63 seconds for another RATI! 🐀
Twinks score was second out of 19 dogs.
Later on we thoroughly enjoyed a couple of most wonderful walks in the beautiful valley in Agassiz!
