Shiraz's third Rally Trail and third Q equals a New Title for her at just
three months shy of being
11 years old!!
I also took both her and Santos for their Canine Good Neighbour Test which they both past with great ease.
I encourage every one to train for this Title as it is good proof of a nicely mannered dog we can all be proud of.
Shiraz is now Can.Int'l.Ch.Violet Sky Silver Angel TP RN CGN/CGC HIT
and
Santos is BIS/BISS BBE Am.Can.Ch.Violet Sky Above RN CGN/CGC HIT

Shiraz is our first silver in our first homebred litter of
Standard Poodles and is my 2nd Homebred Canadian Champion.
♥ To date Shiraz has produced for the conformation ring,
7 Canadian Champions, 3 silver American Champions and
1 silver Australian Champion who is very possibly the youngest and quickest finishing silver American Champion puppy in the U.S.A. and the
first ever silver Standard to achieve a
Best in Show, Best in Specialty Show
and on to
Multiple Best in Shows in Australia!!! ♥

It was a real thrill to receive a Group 4th and Best Puppy in Group with Shiraz in a class of 10 Standard Poodles and over a Best In Show Special ... Breeder/Owner/Groomed & Handled.

This was the weekend before I took Shiraz to Terri Meyers hence the reason I have alot of hair on her in this photo above for Terri to put her very special Puppy Trim on Shiraz for PCA as in the photo below!!!

Poodle Club of America.

Needing 1 point to finish her Canadian Championship, off Shiraz and I went with all of her big puppy hair for Terri to do her absolutely beautiful scissoring magic on Shiraz. After two airplane rides, we caught up with Terri Meyers for our road trip to Poodle Club of America 70th National Specialty and my third time at PCA (2002). This is where I back off and let the Pro take over. I actually did the entrance with Shiraz in her class of 9-12 puppy bitches at PCA, but like I said before it's for the Pros.

I have enjoyed showing my own Poodles immensely.
There is no other feeling of self award when you have bred, trained, groomed, scissored, and presented your Poodles yourself to the achievement of a Championship Title.
Of course, part of the enjoyment is the learning as there is so much to know!

Shiraz had her first contraction at 6:10 pm with a puppy born at 6:18pm. Within 6:18 to 7:34 she whelped 6 puppies. Then at 8:48pm she had one more!!! From her first pup born to the last, total whelp time was 2 & 1/2 hours to the minute!!! Her first Litter was 2 hours to the minute!!! Both Litters during the day with all placentas attached. Something any breeder would be very happy with. Total of 3 females and 4 males. So I got one silver female (Sparkle), one blue female with one silver male (Skyler), one white female (Daisy) and 3 white/cream males. Shiraz did very well with all her new charges.
Shiraz's first Litter was born on my Fathers Birthday and her 2nd Litter born on my Sisters Birthday which I'll add while she was having her Birthday Dinner, Shiraz was very very busy but waited for them to have her last a silver boy being Skyler.

Shiraz was bred to an 11 year old dog Bubba - Napoli Guardian Angel for her third and last litter.
I had decided that I needed to go out for diversity as her first two litters were to Can.Am.Ch.Cabernet's Cut To The Chase resulting in Santos and Sparkle for my future.

Shiraz`s first attempt at swimming

Yah...not so much thank you she thought after her first try at wading in the deep end as pictured in Vernon Creek, Vernon, B.C.,
where we camped. I have to admit that it was kind of icky as the bottom of the creek was quite silty and was pulling at my well strapped on footwear the best it could to get them off! Santos didn't seem to mind but he'll do anything for his Mommy!!!
A couple of days later we went to Rotary Park in Kelowna where I swam out with Santos and Salsa. Santos loved it and swam out like a duck takes to water on his first time! Then I came back for Shiraz and as we headed to the lake she put her brakes on looking at me like ... HELLO what didn't you get the first time?!!!! LOL Oh well off to something else like Sheep Herding which she loved and received her Herding Instinct Tested.....of course she is a hunter!! This is something we can get with our Standard Poodles as that was what they were bred for after all.

Shiraz came out to show
at 10 years old!! I love when shows offer these kind of events for our Veterans!!!
They love to come out and strut their stuff like the young days of their prime.

After taking Santos to his first
Rally Trial I came home and took Shiraz outside to see what she could do and then entered her in this Trail!!! I was hooked LOL.
